Hello, my name is Matt Rheault and I am a professional web/graphics developer. I enjoy my morning cup of coffee and the satisfaction of getting the job done. I have 3 years professional web/graphic development experience, and am always eager to take the next step in my career.

My Expertise

  • XHTML/CSS - 4 years experience
    I am self taught in XHTML/CSS (including html5/css3) and am very confident in my ability to write clean, valid, functional code.
  • PHP/MySQL - 2 years experience
    I have experience working with the server side scripting language PHP and database structure MySQL to create dynamic content driven websites. I have experience working with php mvc structures such as cakephp.
  • JAVA - 1 year experience
    I have a firm foundation in JAVA programming and OOP data and MVC structures. I am currently learning more about JAVA as part of my Computer Science major requirements.
  • Visual Basic - 1 year experience
    I took a college level class in Visual Basic, and although VB is not a web based programming language, it is still a useful skill to have.
  • Wordpress - 2 years experience
    Wordpress is a cms (content management system) that is widely used on blogs across the web.
  • ModX - 2 years experience
    Modx is a cms (content management system) that I use to manage the majority of the sites that I create.
  • Adobe Photoshop - 5 years experience
    Graphic design is what got me into web development. I have been religiously practicing my photoshop skills since my freshman year of highschool.

  • Oakmont Regional Highschool - Class of 2010
    Graduated with honors after 4 years with a GPA of 3.4 on a 4 point scale.
  • UMASS Amherst - Class of 2014
    I am currently attending the University of Massachusetts, Amherst as a Computer Science Major.

 

My Experience

  • Freelance Work - Over the past 3 years I have done numerous private freelancing jobs. This means that I worked one on one with clients to design and develop a website for their own personal interest.
  • inConcert Web Solutions, inc. - Web Development/Customer Service
    I started off as an intern at inConcert Web in the summer of 2009. After the summer I was offered a job and have been working there since.
  • Break the Network - Founder & Author
    Break the Network has been a personal project of mine since early 2010. It is an online design and programming blog where me and my hand selected authors write tutorials and articles on our spare time.
  • UMASS SGA/ACM - Web Developer
    This was my first mvc based web application project, working with cake php. I was hired by the UMass SGA as a developer to create an exclusive UMass textbook swap market website. After nearly 2 semesters of hard work, you can view the textbook swap here.
